Of Eastern European heritage, Ina Zdorovetchi was born in Moldova, where she started playing the piano at the age of five. As pianist she has soloed with orchestras and claimed top prizes at national piano competitions. A few years later, she decided to take up the harp as a second major and within three years of study made her solo debut with the Moldova National Radio Orchestra at the age of twelve.
She holds a Graduate Diploma (’08) from New England Conservatory, a Masters Degree (‘06) from Boston University and a Bachelor Degree (‘04), Summa Cum Laude from Boston Conservatory, having completed three years of undergraduate studies (‘99-’02) at the National University of Music in Bucharest, Romania. Her main teachers include Ann Hobson Pilot, Cynthia Price-Glynn and Ion Ivan-Roncea. She was a fellow of the Tanglewood Music Center (2003 and 2004) and is an elected member of Pi Kappa Lambda, The National Music Honor Society. Between 2006-2009 she served as President of the American Harp Society-Boston Chapter.
